We are so excited you found us! We want to make sure you feel right at home when you visit. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by our staff and team members. We will give you a tour, show you how to check your children into our secure children’s area, and help answer any questions you might have. All of our Serve Teams will be wearing an “Ask Me” badge to help you with any questions you might have.
We’d love to have you worship with us this Sunday, and it is our prayer that, from the moment you walk through the doors, you will feel an overwhelming sense of home.
What We Believe
THE BIBLE: We believe the Bible to be the God-inspired, infallible Word of God. We believe it to be without error and applicable to all generations (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Corinthians 2:13).
GOD: We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, distinguishable but indivisible (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
THE LORD JESUS CHRIST: We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of men, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, 100% God and 100% man (Luke 1:26-35; John 1:18; Isaiah 7:14, 9:16).
SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH: We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through faith through the perfect work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins (Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11).
WATER BAPTISM: We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in order to fulfill the command of Christ (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:37-39, 19:1-6).
COMMUNION: We believe that Communion, also called the Lord’s Supper, is for believers (1 Corinthians 11:28-29).
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that every Christian can be baptized in the Holy Spirit and is given gifts that help them minister to the body of Christ and the lost (Acts 2:1-4, 8:14-17, 10:44-46; Romans 12; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 3:14-15).
THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe in the operation of the gifts of the Spirit as enumerated in 1 Corinthians 12-14 and as manifested in the Early Church.
HEALING: We believe in divine healing of the sick which is provided for through Jesus’ shed blood (Acts 4:30; Romans 8:11; 1 Corinthians 12:9; James 5:1).
THTHES, OFFERINGS, AND PROSPERITY: We believe that the tithe (the first ten percent of our income) belongs to the Lord. We believe offerings should be given willingly. We believe prosperity is the will of God for every believer and should always be associated with God’s purpose for our lives (Deuteronomy 8:18; 2 Corinthians 8:9, 9:6-15).
Our vision, mission and strategy are based on truths found in the Word of God for His Church. These three work together, like a three-fold cord, in propelling us forward. We believe God’s vision, mission and strategy for His church mirrors His vision, mission and strategy for our personal lives as well; therefore, everything we do is with the intent of leading people to encounter Jesus.
The Great Commission:
Jesus gave us the vision for His Church, also known as the Great Commission:
“Therefore go make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you, always, to the end of the age.” -Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
Our mission at Family Life Church is simple: Teaching people how to win in life!
Our strategy is simply “how” we accomplish our vision and mission. We believe there are five main ways that position us to encounter Jesus: Weekend Services, Personal Devotion, Serving Teams, Connect Groups and Missions/Outreach.
Our worship services are designed to encourage and strengthen you in your relationship with Jesus. Our hope is that people of all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life will come into our services and encounter Jesus.
Personal Devotion is simply the daily practice of making room in your life to seek God through prayer and reading the Bible. We believe this is an important step to taking your personal spiritual growth experience beyond the weekend and into your everyday life.
Serving is the very heart and nature of Jesus. The Bible tells us that He came “not to be served, but to serve” (Matthew 20:28). While on earth, Jesus met people’s physical and tangible needs. As servants of Christ, it is our belief that we should do the same. Simply put, we are able to identify more with the character of Christ when we serve others.
These groups are a great way to meet people, make friends, get closer to God, and find real answers for life’s questions. There is a group for everyone, whatever your age group, gender, background, or interests might be.
Missions and Outreach
We believe the local church is the vehicle Jesus Christ chose and empowered to reach a lost and hurting world. Through our local outreaches and global missions, we mobilize teams to help people encounter Jesus. Our goal is to be the hands and feet of Jesus and driven by His heart to serve others, while giving people the opportunity to find true hope and fulfillment. Together, we are reaching our communities and changing our world for Jesus.
Dr. Terry and Mrs. Sandy Sparks have been married for over 30 years and have two children who are both actively serving in the ministry. They became the Pastors of Family Life Church in Sulphur Springs in December, 1999. Under their leadership and through his message of Faith and Grace, the church has grown from 25 members to hundreds now calling Family Life their church home. Pastor Terry & Sandy’s vision isn’t just local; it is global. He has ministered internationally in over 27 countries and is the pastor to pastors in Ghana, Columbia, Thailand, and Mexico.
Pastors Terry and Sandy have a heart to love and accept people where they are and for who they are, lead them to Jesus through the message of grace, love, and mercy, and help them win in life!
